The 2017 Academy Awards

The Academy Awards also known as Oscars red carpet made up for the lackluster fashion we have so far witnessed on previous Awards red carpets. Celebrities brought more than their fashion game forward but laid the gauntlet and left us mesmerized.

High Collars -  High collared gowns were very popular for Ginnifer Goodwin, Janelle Monae and Hailee Steinfeld.

Strapless - 
This shoulder baring trend has made it's mark on Awards season and isn't about to rest.

Gold - 
Dakota Johnson, Emma Stone and Amy Adams gave the Oscar Award a run for it's money in statuesque gold.

Sheer -  
Kate Beckinsale, Lily Collins and Nina Dobrev looked sexy yet demure in sheer gowns at the Vanity Fair party.

Halter Necklines - 
The  tight around the neck halter made a comeback as a noteworthy trend on the Oscars red carpet.

Silver - While Gold was the metal shine of choice on the Oscar's red carpet, Silver stole the show during the Vanity Fair party.

Ruffles - 
Feminine detailing took shape in form of wispy to edgy ruffles that fell into trains for Brie Larson at the Oscars and Sara Sampaio at the Vanity Fair Party.

Asymmetrical - The one shoulder trend took on a new twist at the Vanity Fair's Oscar party with one full sleeve juxtaposed against a bared or sleeveless shoulder.
