Paris Haute Couture: Fall 2015 Trends.

Paris Haute Couture fashion week was nothing short of glamorous with collections tinged with a historical vibe. Chanel was full of 18th Century references noted in the regal embroidery in it’s white collection. For Dior, Raf Simons took inspiration from the 18th Century French court and Edwardian tailoring through to the modern day. It was a beautiful fantasy at Elie Saab with exquisitely beautiful princess dresses and shimmer rich collection while Giambattista Valli moved to feminine and glamorous territory by putting the shirt in the spotlight.

A- Line Silhouettes. A – Lines in skirts and dresses dominated at Chanel, Giambattista Valli and Dior.

Velvet. Couture favourites Viktor & Rolf presented a collection predominantly in velvet while Alexis Mabille, Ulyana Sergeenko and Jean Paul Gaultier offered a few creations in this luxurious fabric.

Ball gowns. Gowns to sweep you off your feet featured at Elie Saab, Dior, Giambattista Valli and Zuhair Murad.

Cinched Waists. Creations were cinched under the bust and at the waist with leather bandings at Valentino, slim belts at Elie Saab and wide metallic belts at Dior.

Embroidery. Floral embroideries were fresh and vibrant throughout and came on wonderful evening gowns.

Fur. Texture came in the form of fur with fur stoles, coats and scarves adorning glamorous creations. versace, schiaparelli.

Asymmetry. Asymmetry especially with the long sleeve one arm cut proved popular at Zuhair Murad, Versace Atelier and Alexandre Vauthier.
